State-of-the-Art Care

Mills-Peninsula operates two renal dialysis treatment centers, one at 1720 El Camino Real in Burlingame and one on the Mills Health Center campus at 100 S. San Mateo Drive in San Mateo.

Each site provides hemodialysis treatments, skilled training for peritoneal dialysis, consultation, and convenient pharmacy, lab and hospital services.

A team of experienced professionals – nephrologists, dialysis nurses and technicians, social workers and dietitians – provide compassionate care and hands-on assistance during treatment.

Mills-Peninsula also provides acute dialysis treatment for patients in the hospital.

Equally important, since both outpatient and hospital care is provided by Mills-Peninsula, our patients can be confident of high quality and good communication.

Treatment Options

Peritoneal dialysis
This self-care procedure provides daily dialysis through the peritoneal membrane. Our professional staff provides individualized training for this treatment, which usually takes place at home. Self-care allows more flexibility and independence. This type of dialysis is called Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD).

Hemodialysis
This therapy is provided by experienced nursing staff in the dialysis center, usually three times per week. The treatments are individualized to best meet each patient’s needs. Each center offers pleasant surroundings for a relaxing experience.

Kidney transplant
Patients are encouraged to consider kidney transplant as an option. Mills-Peninsula’s sister facility, California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, offers education about kidney transplantation services right in our Burlingame and San Mateo clinics.

Traveler Services

The center staff can help patients arrange dialysis in other centers as they travel for business or pleasure.

Mills-Peninsula also welcomes visitors who need dialysis services from other centers around the world.
