    Community Progress Report

    The community goal for the On the Move program is for participants to work together exercising and reporting their activity using our fitness tracking tool. That community activity will then be converted to miles of distance we are traveling together.

    On this page you can check out the progress. We will be updating the distance every 2 weeks.

    Results as of 7/11/2008





    Conversion rate:
    15 minutes of exercise = 1 mile
    2000 Steps = 1 mile (with a pedometer)

    The City of San Mateo and Mills-Peninsula Health Services are proud to be taking the leading role in the county to promote health, wellness and fitness for its residents.

    San Mateo On the Move can be the vehicle to move towards a healthier lifestyle.

    At last year’s kick-off:
    > Over 1,500 were in attendance

    > Nearly 300 people had their blood pressure read

    > 250 children went through our four physical fitness tests

    > Over 300 people had body fat and flexibility assessments

    > 500 young dancers performed in 31 performances

    > 251 people logged in regularly to our fitness website
