Who makes up RSVP?
top

More than 900 of your friends and neighbors in San Mateo County work in more than 120 local agencies providing essential human services to make our community a better place to live.

How much time will it take?
top

RSVP volunteers are busy people involved with their families, friends and communities. Your RSVP work assignment is tailored to your schedule and interests, and becomes an important part of a fulfilled lifestyle.

Who can volunteer?
top

You can be one of RSVP's "Valuable People" if you are age 55 or older, live in San Mateo County and can share your lifetime of experience with others. RSVP also encourages its members to bring a friend to share the work and enjoy the richness of their volunteer experience together.

How does RSVP work?
top

RSVP is a link between the resources of older adult volunteers and the needs of the community. RSVP is supported by contributions from the government and our local sponsor. However, as we all know, such support isn't enough to meet increasing service demands. In order to support 900 volunteers who contribute approximately 200,000 hours of work a year, RSVP must rely on the help of many private sources of support.

Local fundraising drives, memorial contributions, grants from service clubs and foundations and individual donations play a major role in keeping RSVP financially sound.

If you would like to financially support RSVP, send a donation along with your request for information. For every $1 you donate, RSVP volunteers provide $28 worth of service.
