Drug Free Workplace
Evaluation and Education
The goal of this two-week educational program is to more fully determine whether a person is accurately describing their substance use. It involves 10 hours of educational and group programming each week, with an additional two hours of family involvement. The program includes the Monitoring Program, in which participants can learn the requirements of the Department of Transportation Drug-Free Workplace Act (DOT).
Monitoring Program
Clinical research clearly shows that monitoring helps patients succeed at ongoing recovery. This program presents the basic requirements of the DOT drug-free workplace regulations and education about progression of substance abuse disease. It includes weekly monitoring of compliance and recovery efforts.
The structured eight-week program includes the DOT Monitoring Group and a lecture on Thursday evenings. There also are two individual sessions with the program leader.
Forensic urine or NIDA (National Institute of Drug Abuse) approved testing may be independently arranged through Mills-Peninsula.
